Hello Parents and Students. I am excited to meet with you and/or your student to assist in making learning and coursework understandable and enjoyable to succeed in class and apply such learning to everyday life.
I am a college graduate with a degree in Anthropology and I am fluent in written and spoken Spanish, which I learned in university and perfected through my work with the Hispanic community in Washington DC and Maryland.
I have recently returned to studying sciences at the community college level and am well versed in the subjects of biology, geography, history, Spanish and life sciences from my collegiate studies. I have previously tutored elementary school children by providing assistance with homework, reading and practicing of coursework. I have worked as a home visitor with the Healthy Start and Healthy Families programs, which focused on parent education and early child development. I am available to tutor on weekends and weeknights for academic or leisure purposes.
I am interested in tutoring because as a student, I have experienced the benefits of tutoring and extra-curricular help with understanding and practicing coursework. As a tutor, I will work from a student-driven approach to see what the student is in need of, what areas of study they seek enhancement with or what areas they are interested in learning as a new area of interest.
