Hello there! My name is Molly, and I tutor privately in the Bowie, Maryland, area.
I currently help children and young adults with their math, science, writing, language arts and other general homework subjects on a daily basis. As a tutor, I am very patient and very positive. I try to bring some fun into the mix to encourage the students and improve their focus on the work at hand.
I have had very good results with the students I have worked with. If you'd like more input on my abilities, references are available upon request.
Mentoring is another area of my work. I am available to help guide middle or high school students in their school lives and futures. I have a lot of life experience and can provide a positive and helpful approach to their futures. Study skills are also a part of the mentoring process. I have been a very good student in my past in college and high school, and I know how to study to be effective in school.
I have an educational background in Business and Engineering, having Bachelor's degrees in each. That being said, math is my strong suit. I can help with elementary school math, basic math, pre-algebra, algebra I, and some geometry.
My experience with tutoring covers approximately three years, with over a year of volunteer tutoring for elementary school students at Gaywood Elementary School. I also have 2 years of paid tutoring experience, having worked as an after-school tutor at a Laurel Elementary School and now being self-employed and working with students of all ages.
