Have fun learning another language and broaden your perspectives! I am from Mexico and have been tutoring and teaching Spanish in the Washington area for more than 15 years. Spanish grammar, reading, and conversation. Preparation for different kinds of tests, cultural aspects, and group study. I have been teaching Spanish in other countries, and have long years of experience tutoring high school students AP/SAT, as well as adults working at the United Nations (UNHCR) for six years, as translator, interpreter and teacher. I worked for 5 years in FLES (Foreign Language Elementary School) all around Montgomery County.
I have a degree in Sociology and M.A. in Political Science. I am fluent in three other languages (English, German and Italian), and have a working knowledge of Portuguese.
I teach students of all ages and I am extremely kind and patient especially with young children. The majority of my students are college age students who can be beginners, intermediate or advanced in learning the Spanish language of which I help them with mastering from A to Z.
I also prepare a portion of my students for a number of Spanish language tests, that are demanded by the U.S. government to pass and secure related jobs here with the State Department or overseas in Spanish speaking countries.
As for my personality, I consider myself extremely pleasant with a very positive attitude and take care in teaching my students and encouraging them to learn and to reach their goals in learning the Spanish language. I also put my students' interests first and accommodate them in every possible way and to my best ability.
If you are motivated to study hard, I can help you raise your grade or learn Spanish for work and/or enjoyment. I can also help with your homework, tests, reading skills, and pronunciation. My aim is always to raise the achievements of my students beyond their own expectations with challenging and rewarding lessons. I like to share with them my passion for Latin American literature and New-Latin music.
