All of
Santiago’s current tutoring subjects are listed at the left. You
can read more about
Santiago’s qualifications in specific subjects below.
ACT Math
I am very familiar with all the topics covered (pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trig, etc) I have taken numerous classes in all these fields and have tutores students in them before. I am also a great test taker and I can pass on some of my strategies to my students.
Algebra 1
I have degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics. I have tutored High School and College level math. I understand all the concepts in a deep level, which enables me to better relate to students that are either new to algebra or are struggling and explain concepts beyond the simple models and methods seen in the classroom.
Algebra 2
I have tutored High School and College level math. I am familiar with the curriculum for algebra 2 classes. I have also done very well in my own algebra classes, which I had to take on the way to obtaining my Electrical engineering and Physics degrees.
Calculus
I have tutored High School and College level Calculus. Calculus is one of the most powerful tools in math and as such is used through out the engineering field. I understand the concepts well and can explain them in a manner in which they make sense .
Chemistry
I am very familiar with chemistry. I have taken many classes that touch on chemistry during my physics career. I understand subjects at a deep level and can solve all the problems commonly given in highschool and college level chemistry classes.
I have tutored chemistry classes several times before, and I am well-versed on the subject
Computer Engineering
I have a degree in Electrical and Computer engineering.
I received my degree from the University of Maryland.
I maintained a high grade point average throughout my degree.
I am well versed in computer architecture and programming.
Computer Science
I Have a degre in Electrical and Computer engineering.
I received my degree from the University of Maryland.
I maintained a high grade point average throughout my degree.
I am well versed in computer architecture and programming.
Differential Equations
I have a degree in Electrical and Computer engineering.
Because of the nature of Capacitors and inductors, namely that i = c (dv/dt) and V = L (di/dt), a lot of differential equations are used in circuit analysis and rigorous differential equation classes are required in the curriculum.
I also use differential equations at work every day.
Discrete Math
I have taken a number of classes on digital signal processing which are rooted in discrete math. These are required for the Electrical Engineering diploma.
I have extensive knowledge in discrete math and have tutored in these classes before.
Electrical Engineering
I have a Degree in Electrical Engineering
I got my degree from the University of Maryland.
I got a High grade point average.
I am well versed in circuit design and programming.
ESL/ESOL
I am completely bilingual in English and Spanish. I was myself an ESOL student when I was young.I have tutored ESOL students in the past.
Geometry
I have a degree in Physics. Classical mechanics (dealing with orbits of plannets and fields) uses geometry extensively. I am very familiar with all the rules and concepts in the curriculum and have tutored students before. I have a deep understanding of the concepts which enables me to explain them well.
Linear Algebra
I have a degree in physics. In Quantum physics you use very high level Linear algebra, and Linear algebra classes are required in the curriculum. I have taken a 400 level Linear algebra class and passed it with an A. I have also tutored High school and college student in linear algebra classes.
Logic
I have a degree in Electrical and Computer engineering.
I received my degree from the University of Maryland.
In electrical engineering you take rigorous classes in Boolean algebra, circuit logic and binary logic. These are cornerstones of Electrical circuit design.
Mechanical Engineering
I have degrees in electrical engineering and Physics. Classical Mechanics in physics is very similar to Mechanical engineering ( dealing with flowrates, forces, torques etc) This, along with my engineering background, qualifies me to tutor Mechanical Engineering.
Physics
I have a degree in Physics from the University of Maryland. I can teach anything from projectiles, forces and magnetism to thermodynamics and quantum physics. I am also qualified to teach all the math that goes along with it.
Prealgebra
I have degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics. I have tutored high school and college level math. I understand all the concepts well and can explain them in a manner in which they make sense.
Precalculus
I have degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics. I have tutored high school and college level math. I understand all the concepts well and can explain them in a manner in which they make sense.
SAT Math
I got a 790 on the math portion of the SAT the first time I took the exam. I have tutored SAT students in the past. I understand all the concepts well and can explain them in a manner in which they make sense.
Spanish
I lived in Argentina for 14 Years. I am completely Bilingual and I have tutored students in the past. I am good at explaining the rules and reasoning behind the language in a manner that it makes sense.
Statistics
Statistics is heavily studied in Thermodynamics and I have taken many rigorous courses. I understand all the concepts well and can explain them in a manner in which they make sense.
Trigonometry
Trig is heavily used in Classical Mechanics.
