Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. Bar Exam

I have passed the DC and Maryland bar exams.

English

I've worked as a professional and free-lance writer, publishing in national and regional magazines. I have ghost-written op-eds and columns for a number of trade groups. I've also written articles for legal publications, and done blogs and website material for law firms. In addition, I've taught English to speakers of other languages both overseas and in the US.

ESL/ESOL

I am an experienced English as a second language teacher. I taught ESL for four years at a Korean university in the Peace Corps.

Law

I'm a Georgetown University Law Center graduate, with more than 30 years' experience as a lawyer, government relations executive, teacher, tutor and writer. I've passed the DC and Maryland bar exams and have over 10 years' experience preparing would-be law students for the LSAT. I've recently begun working with students on bar exams.

LSAT

I'm a semi-retired lawyer who has taught and tutored the LSAT for about 10 years.

TOEFL

I've worked with adults and secondary school students to prepare them for the TOEFL test. I also taught English at a Korean university for four years in the Peace Corps.

Writing

I've done freelance writing for over 30 years, and worked for six years as a writer-editor for a specialized newsletter firm with a wide range of government, corporate and association clients.
