I am a graduate and employee of Berklee College of Music. I enjoy reviewing the fundamentals of music theory. I have successfully helped some former classmates achieve better marks in their classes. The key to your success in any jazz-based or traditional theory course is developing a strong understanding of the basics. To do this, I try to assess what the student knows and how they learn so that we can build upon their own understanding of the material. I also try to help the student develop their own easy way to remember the information.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Ear Training

I hold a Bachelors of Music from Berklee College of Music. I have studied Music in an undergraduate setting since 2005, being exposed to different methods of teaching for traditional and jazz concepts. I play a melodic yet percussive instrument. The first way I learned music was by rote. My teachers said that my ear was a unique strength in my courses when we had melodic & rhythmic dictations.
