I have worked as a Site Director for Newton Learning Program and Huntington Learning. I have worked in the Baltimore City School System Since1991. I am presently working as a Para-Educator and Substitute Teacher in a Pre-K class.
Over the years I have come to understand that as educators we should "train" the mind of a child. We need to find out what that child is already hardwired to be and how he or she understands the world around them. If we can help them discover who they are rather than trying to "teach" them to fit a specific mold, then the student and the educator can be successful.
I am experienced at helping children learn the concepts and methods of Math and Reading in an engaging manner. I want the child to learn by building on what they already know and helping them make the connections that allude them. In the end I want them to see that education is not as mysterious and frustrating as it may seem to be.
