I worked as a speech therapist in Anne Arundel County, primarily in middle and high schools. In 2002, I pursued my passion and earned a Master's degree from the University of Baltimore (2005)in Creative Writing and the Publishing Arts. After graduation, I taught writing at UB for three semesters. Currently, I am teaching part-time at the Baltimore Actors' Theatre Conservatory.

I am a published poet. My first book,"A Little Breast Music," was published in Baltimore by Passager Books in 2008, and I am now working on a second poetry collection. My poems have been published in many literary journals, and I give poetry readings in the Baltimore-Annapolis-Washington, D.C., corridor on a regular basis.

I have tutored in the past in Anne Arundel County - mostly in the areas of written language and vocabulary.

I love working 1:1 with students to help them achieve their fullest learning potential. My goal is to make tutoring sessions rich, fun and even exciting experiences. "Boredom" is a word NOT in my personal vocabulary!

I earned my Master's degree in Creative Writing/Publishing Arts in 2005 from the University of Baltimore. I have studied Literature since my undergraduate days at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. I excelled in my studies at all academic levels. I have a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing/Publishing Arts - earning a GPA OF 3.91. I worked as a speech therapist for 35 years in a variety of school settings where I frequently helped students in elementary, middle, and high school with their study skills. I also taught writing at the University of Baltimore as an adjunct professor for three semesters, where I helped many students informally with their study skills.

ESL/ESOL

With my background and degree in speech and language, I have studied phonetics and word pronunciation. I have worked with a number of students from foreign countries - including Korea, China and Austria - to help them learn and perfect their English language speaking and reading skills. I have 35 years of experience teaching in the field of speech and language.

I have a background in speech therapy. In college, I took several public speaking courses. I studied about voice and voice projection. I have a Bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy, as well as a Master's Equivalency.
