I worked as a speech therapist in Anne Arundel County, primarily in middle and high schools. In 2002, I pursued my passion and earned a Master's degree from the University of Baltimore (2005)in Creative Writing and the Publishing Arts. After graduation, I taught writing at UB for three semesters. Currently, I am teaching part-time at the Baltimore Actors' Theatre Conservatory.

I am a published poet. My first book,"A Little Breast Music," was published in Baltimore by Passager Books in 2008, and I am now working on a second poetry collection. My poems have been published in many literary journals, and I give poetry readings in the Baltimore-Annapolis-Washington, D.C., corridor on a regular basis.

I have tutored in the past in Anne Arundel County - mostly in the areas of written language and vocabulary.

I love working 1:1 with students to help them achieve their fullest learning potential. My goal is to make tutoring sessions rich, fun and even exciting experiences. "Boredom" is a word NOT in my personal vocabulary!

Communicate your educational needs, frustrations, and goals, and we'll work together to get you - not only back on track - but soaring! And we'll have a good time as well, with perhaps a pinch of poetry to inspire you.

Elementary (K-6th)

I worked as a speech therapist in Anne Arundel County for many years, and have extensive experience working with elementary-age children. I also taught part-time at the Baltimore Actor' Theatre Conservatory - five students, ages 8-11.

As a speech therapist, I frequently worked in the classroom setting, helping students improve their reading, listening, writing and vocabulary skills.

At the Theatre Conservatory, I taught the Calvert School Curriculum, which included all major subjects, including Composition, Language Usage, and Reading.

With my background and degree in speech and language, I have studied phonetics and word pronunciation. I have worked with a number of students from foreign countries - including Korea, China and Austria - to help them learn and perfect their English language speaking and reading skills. I have 35 years of experience teaching in the field of speech and language.

I have studied Literature since my undergraduate days at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. I read widely and have a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing and the Publishing Arts from the University of Baltimore. I taught a course called Ideas in Writing at the University of Baltimore, which involved helping students analyze and write about works of literature. I have tutored high school and college students for a number of years, and this tutoring often included the discussion and analysis of literature.

I have a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing/Publishing Arts. Studied proofreading in graduate school in a class called Editorial Style. I taught writing for three semesters to college juniors and seniors at the University of Baltimore. I use my proofreading skills on a fairly frequent basis as I read poetry book manuscripts for friends.

Public Speaking

I have a background in speech therapy. In college, I took several public speaking courses. I studied about voice and voice projection. I have a Bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy, as well as a Master's Equivalency.

I am also a poet, and have had much experience in the last ten years giving poetry readings before audiences of various sizes. I have a Master's degree in Creative Writing and the Publishing Arts.
I believe my unique education/training in the areas of speech therapy and poetry are excellent credentials for public speaking.

I have a degree in speech therapy, and am also a published poet who currently gives readings in the Annapolis-Baltimore-Washington corridor.

Study Skills

I excelled in my studies at all academic levels. I have a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing/Publishing Arts - earning a GPA OF 3.91. I worked as a speech therapist for 35 years in a variety of school settings where I frequently helped students in elementary, middle, and high school with their study skills. I also taught writing at the University of Baltimore as an adjunct professor for three semesters, where I helped many students informally with their study skills.

I earned my Master's degree in Creative Writing/Publishing Arts in 2005 from the University of Baltimore. My first poetry book was published in 2008, and my second book will be published early next year. I have taught writing to undergraduates at the University of Baltimore for three semesters. I have also written for several small newspapers in Anne Arundel County. I write every day, tutor students in writing, and am working on my third book. Writing is my passion, and I like helping others improve their writing skills. I also very much enjoy working with adults and students from other countries.
