Are you struggling with reading comprehension, proper spelling and grammar, AP challenges, SAT, ACT or GRE preparation, or those all-important college application essays? With a bit of hard work, strong effort, honesty, and commitment, together we can achieve success. In short, I want my students to become the best writers and communicators they can possibly be. Despite my rather exciting career, grammar, punctuation, spelling, continuity, and written and verbal clarity are not mere "interests" for me; quite simply, they are passions.
I am a professional writer and editor by trade. A short synopsis of my experience is as follows: Editor of the Emory University award winning college paper; completion of a rigorous combined B.A. and M.A. degree program in English by age 21; a stint on Capitol Hill as a Congressional speech writer; nine years as Senior Writer, Producer, and Interviewer for MTV Networks in NYC; a decade with United Stations Radio Networks in NYC as Executive Producer of an internationally syndicated radio program; and, most recently, a consultant for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for their 2012 core initiative, The American Graduate. This last experience with PBS and NPR stations cemented my desire to return to tutoring full-time to address the sobering decline in education and, perhaps, do what I do best.
As the mother of three, two of whom have graduated from notable Universities and my youngest now midway through his studies in Boston, I have learned firsthand how to strengthen and ingrain the essential skills of reading comprehension and proper written expression through a recipe of hard work and equally fun methodology. With more than 20 years of tutoring experience at top tier private and public high schools and universities, I am uniquely qualified to provide the highest level of support possible.
