Ms. Jackie is one of the best around, if not the best! I came to her, looking to improve my SAT scores. She offered to pursue the ACT instead and coached me through every aspect of it. With her guidance, I went from scoring a 27 composite score on practice tests to a 33 composite score on test day! Even my reading score, which is my weakest subject, was a 32. She knows the entire test in and out, and an improved performance is guaranteed. If you're still hesitant on picking a tutor, stop your search and give Ms. Jackie a call immediately!
Mrs. G. is a brilliant woman who is committed to providing excellent service. She is very professional, motivating, and candid when it comes to a student's potential on standardized tests and a student's potential on receiving an acceptance from a school. She does more than help students sell themselves to the schools of their choices. She gives great advice on the financial aid process and the decision on which school will be the best for the student to reach his or her potential. With her assistance, I was flown out to different schools to have a clearer view of college life. Mrs. G. helped me develop better writing skills that I still use as a college student. These skills helped me to receive great scores on papers at one of the most rigorous liberal arts colleges in the nation. I'm definitely glad that I was given the opportunity to work with her.
If you are looking for a tutor who provides dynamic guidance on all aspects of college entrance preparation, Jacqueline is incredible. She is very sharp and knowledgeable, and can help with many aspects including testing preparation and essay review. She is very popular so schedule well in advance, especially around application and decision deadlines.
I first met Jacqueline while shopping at a home improvement store in 2012. She must have noted my frustration with the salesperson's lack of knowledge. Being a true educator, Jacqueline introduced herself and began to tell me which plants would best suit my garden. She even offered to drive by house to assess the sun's impact on my garden! When she gave me her card, I noticed that she was not a botanist, she was a college adviser! To be honest, I had never heard of such, but I knew that if she was as kind and knowledgeable with me, she would be perfect to help my son with his IB/AP exams. Jacqueline began to work with my family to prepare all 3 of my children for standardized tests, summer study programs as well as the arduous college application process. With her help, my children have surpassed not only their academic pursuits, but Jacqueline has helped to fortify their confidence and their character. Jaqueline's work goes far beyond the classroom. Her impact is far reaching and will continue to contribute to my family for the rest of my children's lives. Needless to say, my son has received many awards, scholarships and admission to top universities. My children - and my garden - are flourishing! Thank you, Jacqueline!
Jacqueline has worked with our daughter for a couple of weeks. I am just sorry that we did not find her sooner, like a year sooner. Nevertheless, we are taking in all that she has to offer. Her patients and love for education of those that seek it is paramount. I will share with others her abilities in hope that she can assist them and their students as well.
Mrs. Jacqueline G., Thank you for being an excellent educator! I would encourage any student or parent looking for education assistance; to make Mrs. G. their first choice! Educators like Mrs. G. are not easy to find and we feel Blessed to have found her through the WyzAnt tutoring service. My husband and I are so happy that our daughter has been able to excel in the last six months while working with Mrs. G. in math and writing. Mrs. G. started out as my daughter's tutor for SAT Prep; then as her College Advisor and finally Mrs. G. extended her role assisting my daughter with summer employment. We are truly pleased and excited about our daughter being accepting into her four top choice colleges and we have Mrs. G. to thank for her phenomenal services. Her invaluable skills and determination as an educator, tutor and college advisor went beyond our wildest hopes and dreams for our daughter. Our daughter wishes to extend her sincerest thanks. Mrs. G. has helped build the foundation for improved academic achievement, focus and social interactions. The impact of her help is so significant; it will help our daughter for the rest of her life. I as a parent truly can't thank Mrs. G. enough and will be forever grateful.
We had the pleasure of meeting Jackie G. through Wyzant. It has been the best tutoring experience that my husband, my self and especially my children had with a professional tutor. Jackie helped our boys through AP Exams, SAT tests and the College preparation process. Our boys became more confident, more enthusiastic and much better prepared for all that was expected of them through High School and now into College. I am sure we would not have had the success that we had without Jacqueline G.
Jackie has been such a blessing to our family! She was very dedicated, consistent, patient, stern when she needed to be--even with the parents, trustworthy, informed, and proactive. She sought to get the best out of our son, and helped him realize his own potential. She introduced us to all kinds of educational opportunities, and ensured that our son had lots of college options. In fact, he says, "if it wasn't for Ms. Jackie I wouldn't be at the college I am now. I didn't want to work with her at first, but I started seeing results from the stuff she was teaching me." Jackie was an advocate for our son with his school, and with potential colleges. She spent hours on his behalf that she didn't even charge us for. If you're serious about preparing your child for a positive, productive future then you want Jackie in your corner. We are excited about engaging her again for our youngest child.
Jacqueline G is an excellent guidance counselor! I attended high school in England and completed my freshman year of college in South Africa, so the transfer application process was somewhat more complicated for me. Jacqueline took the time to understand my foreign credentials and helped me present them in a way that would make it easy for admissions officers to understand (it is important to make an admissions officer's life easier!) With Jacqueline's help, I was able to write the strongest set of applications possible. She is extremely well-informed about the application process for freshmen and transfer, as well as about American colleges. She was able to help me compile a list of colleges that best suited me. Jacqueline always listened to my preferences and worked with my choices but provided guidance and advice that enabled me to make the most informed decisions. She provided excellent counsel on both the logistics and the substance of the application process. She built a relationship of trust and comfort with both me and my mother which made an otherwise tedious process pleasant. I got in to both my top choices, which are among the most competitive colleges in the country, thanks in large part to Jacqueline. We highly recommend her!
Mrs. G. has helped us very much with making a list of schools that would fit of which we had never even heard of before, and told us all about the school atmosphere and positive/negative sides. With that done she guided us through the application process, checking each one for correctness. Even more importantly she looked over our essays and resume so as to discuss at length on how to improve them. Afterwards, she guided us through the complicated financial aid documents of the FAFSA, and found scholarship offerings for which we could apply. As a result, my son was admitted to seven good schools in and out of state.
Ms. Jacqueline G. was referred to us by a family friend. As it turns out, she was exactly what we needed to assist us and our daughter in the complicated college application submission process. Additionally, she assisted us with the selections of colleges that represented our daughter’s strengths as well as those best suited for our daughter's major, visual arts. Ms. G. is the ultimate professional with a personal touch! Through her assistance she was able to guide our daughter to successfully complete her college applications, essays and supplements. As a result, our daughter has been accepted to each college that she has applied to! She was even accepted to those colleges that were considered “reaches.” During this entire process with Ms. G., we've noticed an increased level of maturity and focus in our daughter that exudes a greater sense of confidence. As parents, it’s wonderful to feel that our child has a stronger sense of confidence and a “can do” attitude as she enters her first year of college. Again, we would like to thank Ms. G. for using her knowledge and expertise in assisting our daughter in being able to select what college she’d like to attend in the Fall of 2013.
Jacqueline is an outstanding college counselor. My son arrived at her doorstep with very little knowledge of the college application process, and had in fact not been appropriately advised by other sources assigned to him by his large public school. Jacqueline took the time to educate him and our family about the process. She worked with him on college selection, helping him create powerful essays, prepare his resume and take advantage of the Common Application and supplements to put him in the best light. I am pleased to say, that my son, so far, has been admitted to 7 of the 10 colleges to which he applied, including his first, second, and third choice schools. We feel confident that he will receive more admissions when the remaining decisions come in. One college has offered him significant merit aid. What I appreciated most about Jacqueline is that she won my son's trust and got him to open up in ways that kids don't always do with parents around the application process. She had reviewed my older son's essays and he was admitted to a highly selective east coast school, but the work she did with our second son was extraordinary. I highly recommend her for college counseling. Jacqueline is the consummate professional, eager to teach and make the application cycle fun and rewarding.
Jacqueline G. is a professional in every sense of the word. I recently worked with Jacqueline on revamping my resume, as I hope to change careers in the near future. Jacqueline was very thorough in gathering information for the resume. We discussed in detail my professional experience and my personal experiences that were appropriate for the positions I chose to apply for. She listened to every detail and created a wonderful final product. Throughout the process Jacqueline worked with a tight timeline and even after breaking a finger, she still met her deadlines! She's very dedicated and will get the job done! The resume read like Shakespeare, beautifully done! Thanks Ms. G!
Jackie helped me prepare for the AP NSL exam. Her excitement for the subject matter made me want to learn and it kept me interested. She tailored the teaching style and progress to accommodate the way that I learned best. She used diagrams and references to explain concepts, which is much easier to digest then reading a textbook. We focused on weak points and reiterated strong points. She challenged me enough through problem solving, and essay writing practices. Because of Jackie’s help I was able to get a 4 out of 5 on the AP Exam!
I contacted Jacqueline to ask her to tutor my son in AP Government and Politics as he had a failing semester grade and seeing that he is a senior, I did not want him to send to the colleges a failing semester grade. Jacqueline, then had a heart to heart talk with him and then spoke to me and said this kid does not know much of the material it will take x amount of hours to try and get him where he needs to be for final semester exam. After a couple sessions the progress my son made was unbelievable. You could see that he was more confident with the material. Needless to say, he started asking for more help of Jacqueline even with a project he had in AP Government and an English paper that was 25% percent of his final grade. Another plus was that Jacqueline would work with my son on SKYPE which was a big plus. He came out smelling like roses in both his courses, his teachers were astonished at the progress he made. I will highly recommend Jacqueline, and we are not finished yet with her help, as she will be tutoring my son for his AP exam in May. Thanks Jacqueline from Marcus and Ricardo
Jacqueline is an excellent tutor and highly recommended. She works diligently to bring out the best results from her students.
Mrs. Jackie was phenomenal; extremely thorough along every step of researching, preparing, and following through the entire process of navigating the correct schools that fit my personality. Assisted in every way to properly develop correspondences, make necessary networking connections, and ensuring the best opportunity to be accepting into a great school of my choice. She is an outstanding College Advisor. SAT preparation skills are thorough and on target. Mrs. Jackie is hard working, passionate, and results oriented. She is worth the investment!
During the months of June through August, Jacqueline worked diligently with brother to help improve his reading, writing, and overall comprehension skills, prior to his Freshmen year of college. Jacqueline constantly provided him with assignments which were geared towards challenging his creativity, as well as strengthening his weaker areas. My brother frequently noted that he saw himself improving, within just a short period of time, and was remarkably satisfied with his own personal growth. On a weekly basis, Jacqueline made a point to update him and the family on the progress that was being made with every session, details of the upcoming assignments, and expressed her sincere thanks for allowing her to do what she absolutely loves. Jacqueline was an absolute pleasure to work with! If anyone is looking for a tutor that goes the extra mile with her students and selflessly invests her time, so that each student acquires the necessary tools to be successful at the next level, Jacqueline is the tutor for you. I would absolutely recommend Jacqueline as a tutor and my family definitely plans on keeping the lines of communication open, in case my brother is ever in need of assistance in the future. Thanks again Jacqueline!
Jacqueline G worked well with me and tried very hard to meet my needs. She gave many hours to my project and helped me think through the information needed for strengthening my preliminary research proposal for my dissertation. I would not hesitate to recommend her to another family, or use her again, if needed. She is absolutely wonderful.
