To succeed in mathematics you have to be aware of few things. The first thing and the most important is that you have to understand it. You do not have to like mathematics but you have to understand it. When you start the problem you have to understand what the problem asks you to do. When you study new topic you have to comprehend it, and then use your knowledge in the problems.
The second thing is the practice. The more you practice the better you become. That’s why when I work with students first I explain them the subject and make sure they understand it. Then I ask them to practice on their own. At the beginning I’am there to navigate students through the problems, to answer any questions that may occur, but I’m always trying to make them to do the practice problems by themselves. Once again the more you practice the better you become.
Regarding my experience, I do have a Bachelor Degree of Science in Mathematics from Worcester State University. I also have had work there for two years as mathematics tutor. My responsibilities were to assist/tutor students with mathematical problems regarding courses like: College Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics, Discrete Math, Number Theory, Linear and Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, etc.,help students of varying abilities to develop critical thinking and improve mathematical aptitude during solving problems, support students in use of mathematical software, and facilitate positive and enthusiastic learning environment.
