Dear Parents,
I am a senior student at WPI. I have an international background as I speak 4 languages and have been to 9 different countries. These experiences taught me to be open-minded and very patient in my discussions. I graduated high school with a very high distinction in mathematics which is my favorite subject. My passion for math started with my love of solving real life problems and at the same time having the solution readable and available to others, and that is for me the beauty of math. This passion expanded to other science subjects as well as physics and biology since anything following a logical reasoning is beautiful for the human mind.
I have tutored math in the past in elementary schools in Tunisia as well as French. I was also offered a discrete math tutoring position in WPI in 2009.
I always tend to explain things from the point of view of the person instead of using mine, simply because I feel that the closer you are to the person's views on the matter, the easier and better it is to have him/her grasp the idea you are trying to pass to him/her. I strongly feel that teaching and tutoring should be done by guiding the student in his seeking for knowledge and not by imposing the facts to him/her. Don't just tell him/her what you know, show him/her how to discover it instead!
