I have worked with a variety of students, with a variety of needs, in a variety of settings. I am currently a fifth grade special education teacher in Natick, MA. I teach an intensive mathematics class for students who are far below grade level in mathematics, and I provide inclusion support in mathematics, science and history classes. Because our classes are based on the needs of our students, last year I also taught a pull-out language and literacy class for students who were reading far below grade level and an academic support class that provided support in all academic areas. I am certified as a Wilson Reading Teacher. Prior to this position, I taught fifth grade general education in the same school. I have had experience working with students with executive functioning difficulties in my work at a private tutoring company in Newton. Last summer, I taught in the Extended Year Program for special education students in Brookline. I am certified in Massachusetts as a special education teacher and as an elementary general education teacher. I have an undergraduate degree in both Elementary Education and Human Development and a graduate degree in Teaching Students with Moderate Disabilities, Grade preK-8. These degrees are all from Boston College. I thoroughly enjoy working with students, and I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to meet individual student needs. I am constantly brainstorming ways to help my students reach their highest potential, and I make sure that all of my students know that I believe in their ability to succeed.
