Hi,
I am looking forward to helping you become more comfortable and confident in chemistry and physics through putting emphasis on understanding underline principles rather than mere rote learning. Science and math learning is a continuous process where understanding new material is dependent on how well you understood the prior topics. Thus, I believe whether you find science to be easy or difficult depends on your mastery of principles rather than studying merely for an exam. I am a PhD. chemist with industry experience and have an academic vision that incorporates real world applications and examples in teaching science to invigorate the enthusiasm of the student for science.
As I mentioned above, my approach to teaching science is to make the student familiar with fundamentals and principles so that s/he can negotiate varied problems on her/his own merits rather than merely depending on a set approach taught in class. I have teaching experience as a teaching assistant for undergrads and have experience teaching students with different backgrounds and abilities. I also have teaching experience at high school level where I taught my child and her friends who are now attending well-known universities.
My undergraduate major is chemistry with physics as the minor. Additionally, I have an MS and a PhD in physical and analytical chemistry. I have also taken classes in all disciplines of organic chemistry, which includes reaction mechanisms, modern synthetic methods, physical organic chemistry, preparation and reactions of organic compounds, aromaticity, heterocyclic compounds and naturally-occurring compounds, etc.
