An experienced Independent School educator specializing in English literature, reading, writing, vocabulary and the basic language arts, I tailor lessons to individual learning styles.

Taking a multi-sensory approach to elementary language arts, I break tasks down into easily assimilated skills, building a firm foundation from which to succeed. Solid phonetics are emphasized.

Students with dyslexia, dysgraphia and other learning styles are welcome, as are those working to improve written assignments, needing a bit of extra help with literature courses, or those simply wishing to invest in their knowledge of the English language.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am an experienced elementary teacher; I have taught 2nd through 5th grades with most experience in 3rd grade.
From teaching the basics of language arts and math to teaching the principles of research and independent work to the older students, it has been exciting to be able to contribute to the intellectual and academic development of young people.

Phonics

I am an experienced 3rd grade teacher (over a 15 year span), with extensive experience and familiarity in phonics, spelling, writing and reading; trained to take a structured and multisensory approach to learning of the language arts.
