I am an experienced teacher who loves to help students and believe all children have abilities which needs to be nurtured for personal growth.I have a background in elementary education and a masters in early childhood. I understand the importance of making learning fun but challenging; thus I utilize differentiate instruction within my teaching. I like to focus on one concept and make sure the student has retained the concept and can use it in other settings. I like to finish any tutoring with a game for additional reinforcement.

I have tutored math prep classes for 4th grade MCAS and am acquainted with Scott Foresman math curriculum and the MacGraw Hill curriculum.

I have taught phonics using Bradley phonics system but am acquainted with Tellian TLC methodology. I have assessed using DIBELS and also understand how to differentiate my instruction with this data.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am knowledgeable in everyday math concepts, and have worked with the Scott Foresman reading system. Understanding the importance of integrating curriculum while differentiating instruction is one of my fortes. I have taught science and social studies to the different grade levels. I have my masters in Early Childhood Education and have taught several long term substitute positions in 4th grade and am familar with the requirements of the early levels as well as the upper levels of elementary education.

Elementary Math

I have worked with a 5th grade class on reviewing concepts prior to their MCAS.

Phonics

I am currently teaching in a Walk to Reading Program which addresses lacking phonics skills, sight words and chunking of sounds to obtain words and have seen my students progress to more secure readers.
