In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been working with ADD and ADHD students for some 7 years, I've been trained in counseling psychology and tutoring students with these issues and have had great success as a teacher and counselor as well as tutor.

I have been tutoring the DAT exam for some time, it uses my biology, chemistry, physical science and math skills. I already tutor and teach these subjects now with the objective of getting into dental school. I have tutored people who got into Harvard, Tufts and BU's dental schools.
The DAT has four sections: natural science, perceptual ability, reading comprehension and quantitative reasoning. Each section assesses a variety of sub skills. For instance, natural science has biology and general and organic chemistry questions. Perceptual ability measures aperture, cube counting and 3-D form development. Reading comprehension tests the ability to organize and analyze information in three reading passages. Quantitative reasoning features algebra, geometry, trigonometry and word problems.
I am qualified in basic drawing techniques, architectural drawing, cartooning, and teaching children and adults the basics of how you start to create images in a variety of media: pencil, charcoal, crayon, fine drawing pens, and oil based pencils. I taught basic architectural drawing at a local Community college and taught drawing at a middle school while I was doing a teaching practicum. In college I had a minor in various types of drawing and since then have taken various graphics classes. I frequently use a drawing board attached to my computer to incorporate my art into my work.
Dyslexia is a common learning disability, associated with the inversion of letters like d and b. Frequently these individual have difficulty distinguishing between left and right. I have worked with students on these issues as it relates to reading and test taking after taking learning disability classes and in school guidance and school psychology testing programs. I have written dyslexia plans, and 503 plans for students which where agreed upon with teachers parents and students.
I have considerable experience tutoring children in the k-6 range. I tutor reading, math, language arts,and science at a local middle school, and have worked with many students in that age category. I also have educational assessment skills which are very useful in this particular area.
I have taught both Elementary science and physical science. I have been teaching these subjects for a good number of years for a variety of grade levels. I now have several people interested in me teaching physical science- I tutor my niece in eighth grade physical science right now.
