Gray has a wonderful teaching style and my son reacted positively to a 1.5 hour session devoted exclusively to Latin grammar. Gray is clear, precise and understands exactly what pitfalls my son needs to avoid to become a serious and competent Latin student.
He helped my daughter understand what was required in writing a good essay including: the essay prompt, what the comments were in reworking the essay, and in understanding the story better. I would highly recommend Gray.
My son is so relieved to have found a Latin tutor who understands his areas of weakness and what he needs to do to excel - thank you Gray.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a classics major at Boston College and have taken eight years of Latin. After graduation, I plan to obtain a master's degree in classics and teach Latin at the secondary level. I have won several awards related to Latin and have extensive experience as a Latin tutor for students at all levels in middle school, high school, and college.
