My teaching/tutoring experience includes being an ESL Teacher for the Worcester Public Schools, K-12. I also taught English, Reading, Math, Career Development, Computer Literacy, and Keyboarding at Salters College and Mass. Job Training. I am also a video producer/scriptwriter and have produced, written, and edited documentaries for WCCA TV Channel 13 in Worcester, MA. I also have a Masters degree in Mass Communications from Emerson College so I can teach video production and scriptwriting.
My tutoring methods include having the student demonstrate their proficiency by doing problems in front of me, so that I can be sure they really understand what I am teaching them. I go back and review prior material that the student did not grasp the first time through. Since mathematics tends to be cumulative, it is important to fill in the missing gaps. So, I try to spend time each session to go back and review old material.
I also provide students with feedback and encourage them to do well. I go through the student's assignments and keep a check on the tutorials. I try and make things easy for the student and write the syllabus in such a way that it is easy for the student to grasp.
