I currently work as a copy-editor at a local newspaper, and am enrolled in an Applied Linguistics master's program.
I've been helping native and non-native English speakers with their English writing, reading, grammar and conversation skills since 2001, when I studied abroad in Paris. In 2005, I volunteered in Armenia as an English instructor, teaching journalists how to better write and develop their ideas in English. And just recently, from 2009-11, I led workshops on English and writing for Japanese administrators and scientists.
I enjoy teaching languages - whether it's French grammar or pronunciation, or English grammar and writing (I scored a 750 on my Writing SAT II's). I also find it incredibly fun and enjoyable to relate to kids, and to get them interested in learning and improving.
The uploaded picture was taken at one such "study session" with my twin nieces, now 12.
