I am a highly experienced college counselor who has worked in the professional field for over twenty years. Students and parents, I believe, find me informed, current, honest, and candid.

My graduate degrees were received from the University of Notre Dame and the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. I am also have current certification as a secondary teacher and guidance counselor.

There are three main strengths that I bring to my work with students and families. One is knowing which schools are the best fit for each individual and unique personality. I have extensive knowledge of a wide range of colleges and universities in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. I also gained a unique type of experience working with U.S. citizens living abroad and serving international schools and diverse populations of foreign students seeking advice for acceptance to universities in the U.S. and elsewhere.

A second strength is understanding and appreciating which schools are appropriate and match the performance, abilities and academic skill set of each student. Years of practice have developed my ability and wisdom in successfully predicting a student's chance of acceptance and being comfortable at a given college or university.

A third strength is my interest in career guidance. I believe that every student needs to know who they are and what are their true interests. They need to recognize the relationship between their abilities, their personality and their passions and the future direction they wish to head. Once that is accomplished a students can set realistic goals and select the right fit university, program and major.

Finally, I am also quite capable of offering tutoring assistance and advice with essay writing and in my other degree and teaching areas (history and government)as well as some helpful hints on planning and taking SAT or ACT testing for college.

Furthermore, I am a life-time soccer person with thirty years of coaching both domestically and internationally. If a student is seeking a soccer scholarship or hopes to find a college with a soccer program appropriate to their level or abilities I can offer information, advice and insight.

Soccer

I have coached soccer for more than thirty years. Twenty-five years in secondary and middle schools. Five years at the collegiate level. Many of those years in coaching complemented my international teaching career. Thus, I have coached soccer on four continents in internationals schools in ten different countries.

My coaching certifications include the two badges from the United States Soccer Federation. Those include a "C" and "B" License.
