I want you to get as much out of your tutoring experience as possible. I start every session by briefly establishing short- term goals for the session, pinpointing long-term goals, and making a concrete plan for how we can work together to achieve them.
The majority of current jobs involve teaching English as a Second Language to adult learners. In addition to tutoring I work at a treatment center running goal-setting groups with adolescents (ages 11-18) and adults. I am comfortable working one-on one and in small groups (up to 12 people). I am currently enrolled in coursework at Harvard University studying Adolescent and Young Adult Development in the pursuit of becoming a High School Guidance Counselor.
I am very open to feedback and adapt easily to different learning styles. I make learning fun by getting to know my clients and working hard to incorporate your interests into my lesson plans. I know the importance of planning ahead and strive to create interactive lesson plans tailored to the learning needs of my clients.
I am a young professional with 6 years of tutoring experience. In High School I ran the National Honors Society Tutoring Center. I gained experience with matching students' needs to specific tutors and with tutoring Middle School students in the subjects of Spanish, English Grammar and Writing.
I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Swarthmore College focusing on Second Language Learning and Developmental Psychology. I tutored college students in Spanish, Psychology and Linguistics. I also had a variety of privately contracted tutoring jobs with people of all ages throughout the community in subjects such as Spanish, English, Literature, SAT prep and ESL.
