I'm a trained professional educator, coach and trainer, with particular passion for teaching ESL/ESOL. As a result of my cultural background, training and work experience, I have developed a realistic appreciation of the key needs and interests of learners of ESL/ESOL, as well as the critical challenges they face during the learning process. I have thus developed a set of powerful skills that I utilize in helping the learners to successfully overcome these hurdles.
My teaching is both outcomes-based and learner-friendly. Over the years, I have successfully conducted ESL/ESOL classes of varying sizes, including one-on one, small groups and large groups. All these are held in a democratic and dynamic mutually enriching learning environment. As much as it is practicable, the learning/teaching process is consultative and participatory. My classes have been attended by people from China, Asia, The Middle East, Africa, Haiti, The Caribbean and Latin America, including children, youths and adults.
I have closely worked with a number of respected organizations in this field, including Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), Boston, Operation A.B.L.E. Inc. of Greater Boston, and Generations Incorporated of Greater Boston.
I have a PhD in Curriculum Development and Instruction, a Masters in Social Studies Education and Teaching and a Bachelors in Education.
