ACT Math
My degree is an MS in mathematics from Tufts University.
I love to see students make progress!
ACT Science
I have tutored ACT Science, and every student I worked with found the experience helpful.
ACT Science is a bit different from some of the other tests, and requires putting things together from different places, and making comparisons between different experiments that some students find challenging. I can work with students to help break some of the questions down into simpler pieces, show how some questions can be answered looking only at one experiment, and how to combine the experiments mentally to better answer the comparison questions.
Algebra 1
I've worked with 5 Algebra 1 students over the past twelve months, all of whom have made significant improvements.
I'm currently teaching at Bunker Hill Community College. I have an MS in mathematics from Tufts University, and hold a current Massachusetts Secondary teaching certification in mathematics. I'm a member of National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Algebra 2
I've worked with 6 Algebra 2 students over the past twelve months, all of whom have made significant improvements.
I'm currently teaching at Bunker Hill Community College. I have an MS in mathematics from Tufts University, and hold a current Massachusetts Secondary teaching certification in mathematics. I'm a member of National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Biostatistics
I have taught statistics at Quincy College in Massachusetts, and have tutored statistics to high school students, including AP Statistics and college students.
Calculus
I've tutored high school students in AP Calculus (AB and BC) and in honors calculus, and I've also tutored college students in first and second year calculus. All of these students have made good progress.
I'm currently an adjunct faculty member in mathematics at Bunker Hill Community College, and a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Discrete Math
I have taught Finite Math at Quincy College, covering permutations and combinations, probability, logic, statistics, and mathematical modeling.
Geometry
I've helped students in both Honors and College Prep geometry, including geometric transformation-based courses. Students in both proof-oriented and numerical-results-oriented geometry courses have made good progress working with me.
I'm a mathematics adjunct faculty member at Bunker Hill Community College, and a member of National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
GMAT
My score on the GMAT was 740 (out of 800) which is in the 97th percentile.
I am currently teaching mathematics at Bunker Hill Community College, and have been tutoring extensively for the past three years.
GRE
I have helped a student with intensive tutoring on the math ("Quantitative") part of her GRE - she was very pleased that her score improved and she was admitted to her choice of graduate school. I have also tutored the Verbal part of the exam. I am quite familiar with the exam, and personally scored 800 on both parts when I took the GRE in 2011.
Linear Algebra
I can tutor Linear Algebra based on my college course, both elementary and advanced, and my work in the CADCAM industry that used matrices for transformations of geometric objects.
Physics
I've previously taught high school physics for four years. I've tutored AP Physics B and C, Honors Physics, College Prep Physics, and Conceptual Physics for high school students. I've also tutored first year physics for college students.
I am a member of American Association of Physics Teachers. I have a current Massachusetts teacher certification for Secondary Physics.
Prealgebra
I have taught Prealgebra topics to 7th and 8th graders, and also to adults. In particular, I have developed some techniques of teaching signed numbers by working with IOUs that many students have found helpful.
Precalculus
I've worked with 4 Precalculus students over the past twelve months, all of whom have made significant improvements.

SAT Math
I have tutored students in SAT math level 1 and level 2 subject tests, and the students have made good progress. I can help with both math content and test-taking strategies for these particular tests.
Statistics
I've tutored high school students in AP Statistics and college preparatory statistics, and I've also tutored college students in Statistics. I've also taught Statistics at Quincy College.
