My experience includes teaching the fundamentals of accounting, financial theory, and the economic-analysis of businesses. I'm a UK accountant (completed ACCA/CPA professional accounting examinations) and have a US (Bentley University, MA) Masters’ Degree in Finance graduating with distinction. I've taught as an Adjunct with New Hampshire College and Golden Gate University in San Francisco as well as internationally in the UAE, Dubai, Puerto Rico and recently in South Africa. International (USAID/EU) assignments have also included Egypt, Georgia, Bosnia, Sudan and Afghanistan.
As an entrepreneur, I've many years of developing businesses and business models encompassing marketing and all facets of operating a business including hiring, firing and developing people. My approach, from someone passionate about accounting and teaching, is to balance the textbook theory with the real world placing everything in relative perspective. Students need to understand the fundamentals including deriving formulae as not all solutions can be simply resolved by software even in today's world. This is from someone who is both functional and somewhat technical, being my own web administrator, other than for advanced coding modification. I've also worked for a major software vendor, PeopleSoft, as a Senior Professional Services Group Consultant.
