I thank you for considering me as a potential tutor for a local student looking for a leg up. I'm a 30-year-old professional writer with a passion for education. I've been working in the field of education for more than 10 years, from a position as a college student helping public school kids complete their homework each afternoon to a teacher-recruitment position for a major U.S. test preparation company to my current job as a writer for an educational travel company for adults.

My bachelor's degree in writing and my extensive experience as a professional writer will come in handy for anyone looking to improve on the SAT, make their college application essays stand out, do better in their Freshman English class or write more professional interoffice memos. I have great math skills through the high-school level and have a wide range of knowledge in world history and geography from my five-year tenure as a writer of program information for the marketing department of an educational travel company.

I play the piano and the guitar, speak Spanish and have lived abroad and traveled extensively. Most of all, I am personable and easy to get along with and I am an excellent person with whom to have a break-time conversation about topics ranging from Major League Baseball to how to train your dog to roll over. I love to learn as much as I love to teach, so a student who can teach me a thing or two is always a treat.

Please don't hesitate to contact me to talk about tutoring programs or just to get to know me better. I look forward to helping a student make the next big leap in his or her education.
