I am a licensed Middle School Mathematics teacher, and I currently teach High School Mathematics at an alternative school in Easthampton, MA. I have ten years classroom teaching experience, and a combined experience of 15 years working with at-risk adolescents. During my career as an educator, I have been successful in building positive relationships with students due to my life experience, and my ability to relate well to adolescents and/or teens from a variety of education levels and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am extremely proficient in the subject of Mathematics, and I have the ability to simplify the most complex of mathematical concepts in subjects ranging from basic mathematics to Algebra 2. I also have extensive experience in MCAS preparation. I am confident that I will be able to achieve excellent results in a limited amount of time.

Algebra 1

I have been teaching the algebra 1 curriculum for a total of eight years in accordance with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.

SAT Math

As the Lead Mathematics teacher at my school, my responsibilities span across the Mathematics curriculum. One of these responsibilities includes facilitating MCAS and SAT Math Preparation Courses throughout the school year. My vast experience in working with a diversity of teens has enabled me to successfully provide my students with the principal tools required for achievement in Standardized Testing.

PSAT

I have eight years' experience in facilitating a multitude of Standardized Test Preparation courses for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and MCAS exams.

Special Needs

I have worked with at-risk adolescents and Special Needs students for 15 years as a Special Education Teacher, Behavioralist, and a Community Monitor for DYS committed youth. I am currently a High School Mathematics teacher for a Special Education school in Easthampton, MA.

Football

I have played organized football for 30 years. I was a starting scholarship football player for the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, and I still play Semi-Pro football. My position is WR, though I have an extensive knowledge of all skill positions.

ADD/ADHD

I have worked in the Human Service/Special Education field as a Special Education teacher, Behavioralist, and Community Monitor for the Department of Youth Services committed youth. The majority of the population in which I have served had a variety of behavioral disorders, including ADHD.
