I am passionate about teaching reading, writing, history and computing.
I would like to help students in grades k-12, who are struggling with reading, writing, and vocabulary (including spelling). I am patient, understanding, and willing to work hard to help students succeed.
I currently have a Massachusetts History Teacher's license for grades 5-12. I love history, the roots of Western Civilization, and the foundations of government. Teaching critical thinking and how to be an excellent writer are at the heart of my teaching philosophy. I tutored SAT reading and writing with a professor who had a business tutoring. I know about and have enough course work in economics, so that I am comfortable teaching it.
Currently, I am working towards getting my English teacher's license. I currently substitute teach and enjoy teaching literature, writing and vocabulary. I am actively involved with the local Toastmasters International Club, which focuses on Public Speaking and leadership skills; I was the 2012-2013 club president.
I am excellent with personal computers, tablets and cell phones. I have an excellent understanding of Windows from its beginning to Windows 8. I have a solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and One Note.
