I am a public school teacher licensed in Elementary Education and Special Education Moderate Disabilities K-8, who holds a Specialty license in Elementary Mathematics. I currently teach mathematics full-time and have previously worked as both a literacy teacher and general classroom teacher for all subjects. In addition to teaching for 10 years, I've tutored students professionally for 7 years in grades 1-12. My tutoring experience includes all subject areas: reading, writing, math, science, and study skills for grades K-12, including MCAS prep, SAT prep, and GED prep.
My tutoring services include homework support, re-teaching, study skills, individualized lesson plans, and suggestions for at-home strategies. I use many of my own class-room materials and believe in a multi-sensory approach that allows students to explore a concept in depth using manipulatives, discussion, and practice. I use lots of visuals when teaching and encourage students to connect their learning to real life experiences. In graduate school, I completed research projects that analyzed best teaching practices and looked specifically at how students learn.
I look forward to working with your families!

I have worked with several autistic students during my years in education and also with children in my girl scout troop.
