I am an alumna of Gordon College and have spent several years working with youth of middle and high school ages in various contexts. When I first left college, I was considering going into teaching for ESL students, so I took and passed the MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Education Licensure) in Communication and Literacy Skills and Portuguese. I did not ultimately decide to enter the school system, but my teaching skills came in handy when I worked as the Youth Pastor at Christ the King Presbyterian Church in East Boston and First Baptist Church in Holden. In those settings, I taught the Bible, and on some occasions offered homework help to students who needed it. To this day, the students I pastored who are now in college come to me for help in editing their essays and thinking through prompts. Also during those years right through to today, I worked part-time as a nanny. The age range I worked with primarily needed homework help in middle-school math, English, and foreign languages.
I am passionate about youth and have dedicated my life to helping them grow into successful and thoughtful adults. I am currently studying at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, in pursuit of my Master of Divinity so that I can better serve as a Youth Pastor in the future. During this time of study, I would love to spend some time with your student to help and empower them to succeed in their studies.
