Hello! My name is Cassidy, and I am a recent graduate of Mount Holyoke College in Western Massachusetts. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelors in Biology and honors in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have just recently moved back to Atlanta after completing an fellowship at the Center for Behavioral Neuroscience at Georgia State/Emory two summers ago.
I have many years of tutoring and teaching experience- mainly in grades 6-8, but ranging from grade 2-12. This past summer, I taught 7th grade biology with the Breakthrough Collaborative, an organization that puts low-income middle and high school students on the path to college. I also have worked as Introductory Biology teaching assistant at my college and tutored in the biology department. In high school, I created a student-run science and math tutoring network for students who were seeking outside help.
While my primary expertise is in biology, I have experience in K-12 math, K-12 reading/writing, standardized test prep, and study skills development. I work very well one-on-one, but also have experience in small group work.
When in high school, I achieved a 2260 on my SAT and a 35 composite score on my ACT. In college, I maintained a 3.7 average, earning a 4.0 multiple semesters.
I also teach swimming lessons and am Lifeguard (including CPR/AED) certified.
