Greetings, students of the audio arts!
I have been a total sound-nerd since my youth. From 4-track karaoke machines I'd record cassettes with, to today's digital realm of recording technologies, I've learned mainly from practice, but also from proper education. After high school I attended Full Sail University, where I learned recording arts, music production, & music business. I then went onto work in a number of studios, including a home-based project studio. I eventually got into instructing through an internship I had at a local community access TV station. The head of the station also taught TV production to high school students, & asked for some assistance. That's when I fell in love with spreading my knowledge. I went on to seek other work in the field. I ended up spending time in an after school program teaching 6th-8th graders about music production. I walked them through the entire process of writing a song, recording it, producing it, mixing it, even mastering it & how to press it. It didn't pay well, but I had the time of my life doing it!
I've recently moved to Boston, & would love to continue my work of sharing what I know with others. I am knowledgeable & experienced with recording, producing, mixing, & mastering with Pro Tools, Logic, Reason, & Ableton. If it can be done in the given program, I can teach you how to do it. If it can't be done, I'll show you creative loopholes & substitutes. As someone driven by the art of innovating, I enjoy new forms of music production techniques & fresh recording ideas, & I'd love to share that with you, too. I can teach anyone from absolute beginner to someone seeking help with advanced audio concepts. I'm also familiar with analogue recording, so if that's more what you're looking for I can teach you the basics of that. In addition to what I've said about myself, I do a lot of work setting up sound systems for live events & studios [mics, speakers, mixers, FX units, etc.], & can teach you all about proper cable-patching & "signal flow" [as it's called].
Looking forward to sharing my wealth of knowledge with you!
