My experience in teaching has largely focused on chemistry, specifically organic chemistry. I have tutored organic chemistry and biochemistry for many years as both a one-on-one tutor and a group tutor. I have been a teaching assistant for a variety of chemistry courses, including synthetic and analytical labs. I have taught organic chemistry and managed the undergraduate teaching labs at the University of Chicago. In addition, I have designed and taught a food chemistry lesson to middle school students and volunteered at the Museum of Science and Industry, where I taught guests of all ages about genetics and the chemistry and biology of life. Currently, I teach organic chemistry, basic chemistry, and general chemistry labs at a local university. Although science is my passion, I also excel at grammar and spelling, which I enhance through editing for journals.
I strongly believe teaching should be adapted to fit the needs of each student. As a tutor, I strive to build a student's confidence, teach basic problem solving strategies and study skills, and use a variety of techniques to present material.
