Hello!

I am a Harvard graduate student who is eager to help students in several areas: English, Writing, French, and Philosophy.

I am a fully bilingual French-English speaker: I lived in France between the ages of ten and eighteen, and I received highest honors at the French Baccalaureate examination.

At Harvard College, I worked as a peer French tutor and helped students with written and verbal skills.

As a graduate student in Philosophy at Harvard University, I have taught as an assistant for courses in the Philosophy Department and in General Education. My teaching has included one-on-one meetings about written assignments; I have helped students brainstorm topics, organize and develop arguments for papers, and edit their work .

I am looking forward to bringing my tutoring and teaching experience to students in the Boston area!

Vocabulary

I am an avid reader who has a wide vocabulary and a real interest in helping others expand their vocabulary.

Grammar

As a native English speaker, I am familiar with English grammar and know grammatical terminology and concepts.

French

I am a fully bilingual French speaker. I lived in Paris for eight years, passed the baccalauréat with highest honors (Mention Très Bien). I have experience tutoring French: I served as a peer tutor in college.

Reading

Writing

I have enjoyed writing from a young age and would love to transmit that love to other students. I majored in philosophy as an undergraduate at Harvard and am familiar with the demands of academic writing in college and in preparation for college.
I am now working towards a PhD in philosophy. As a graduate student, I have worked with undergraduates preparing papers for courses in philosophy. I have two years of experience advising students on writing.

English

I am a native English speaker who loves reading and writing.
I can help you gain the English language skills that will help you enjoy reading and writing and pass examinations.

Literature

I studied English Literature in high school and am familiar with many of the classics. As an undergraduate, I continued to take literature classes and particularly enjoyed a course on literature and existentialism.

During my graduate studies, I taught for a class called "Human Being and the Sacred in the History of the West": we studied literature from a philosophical perspective and read The Odyssey, Aeschylus, Dante's Divine Comedy, and Moby Dick.

Proofreading

As a former editor for the Harvard Review of Philosophy, I have extensive experience editing and proofreading academic articles. Please let me know if you need any help editing papers or applications!

Philosophy

I was first introduced to philosophy in my senior year of high school and have loved the subject ever since. I earned a BA in philosophy from Harvard College and am working toward a PhD there, too. I have worked with world famous contemporary philosophers, and I have experience teaching undergraduates in philosophy. I am open to teaching people of all ages and degrees of familiarity with philosophy.
