I am a very kind and patient tutor. I taught violin for 2 years to ages 3-12. I also have a lot of experience tutoring foreign students who want to learn English. I taught group English classes for about 3 years through my college.
English Lessons: I work hard to give examples and provide materials that are memorable, easy to understand, and tangible so that they are easily applied to day-to-day conversation. I am also very big on conversational speaking. Where I give a strong foundation in grammar, I am very interested in making sure the student can communicate verbally with friends, people they meet, and in general, have an overall flavor for the language and culture.
Violin Lessons: I am a Suzuki method instructor. I was brought up on this method, and it has proven to work very well with my teaching style. I will go through the basics of how to hold the instrument, posture, give reading exercises, and learn friendly and non intimidating pieces that will be a joy to play and listen to while practicing. The most important thing while playing the violin is to be comfortable with the instrument. All of the exercises and songs that I assign will be for the well-being of the player, and the enjoyment of the instrument. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Professional Music and an emphasis in violin and vocal performance.
Whoever I tutor is guaranteed to learn a lot and have a lot of fun doing it.
I will teach tools to learn English the easiest and most fun way. I like to make the student feel comfortable speaking to me in English. Conversational learning is most important to me, but I also give the student a strong grammatical foundation. If you want to learn a lot and have fun doing it, I am the tutor for you.
I have been dancing salsa for a few years professionally. I am a professional dancer of most Latin styles, including salsa, merengue, bachata, cha-cha, samba, forro, and more. I have taught salsa to many students at MIT and with an area dance company.
I have been involved in theatre since I was young. I was in an intensive program at Yale to study Shakespeare's play and poems. I was a singer in the Union Avenue Opera Theatre in Saint Louis, Missouri. In 2009 and 2010, I was involved in Berklee College of Music's productions of Aida, The Music Man, and Ragtime. In each production I held a main role. I am no stranger to the theatre both as an actor and as a crew worker, as I did a lot of crew work for Opera Theater Saint Louis as a stage hand. I have a true joy of theatre and performance art. My degree is based in performance and that qualifies me to make any tutoring session valuable and legitimate.
I have been playing violin for 17 years. I studied the Suzuki Method and I played bluegrass, country, jazz, and other genres. I have a strong foundation in technique and I have taught lessons to beginners and intermediate students for a few years. I love my students and I give them the foundation that they need to learn the violin well and love playing the instrument. I graduated with a degree in violin performance from Berklee College of Music. There, I taught some violin classes to students in music education, so that they could become certified to teach in some schools. I have a solid background and a good foundation. With me, the lessons are so much fun.
I graduated Berklee College of Music, with a degree in Violin and Vocal Performance. I am currently a professional recording artist who has worked with artists such as Wyclef Jean, Earth Wind and Fire, and The Roots. I love to teach voice and I have been singing for many years. It is my passion.
