Hello all music students, I'm Stefan, a composer and performer of music ranging from rock/pop/folk to solo piano/guitar, strings and choral music.
My studies and work in composition have given me broad experience teaching and performing music. Music theory and history have also become a passion of mine since I began writing music and especially while working on my degrees in music. I gained invaluable experience as a teaching assistant for music theory and history courses at Tufts University. During these jobs, I lectured and conducted several class meetings and worked with many students individually, outside of class. I have also coached small ensembles for a high school band department in preparation for state contests.
In the 10+ years I've been writing music I've also been dedicated to learning the techniques of the instruments I play and amassing an extensive repertoire for each of them. I've played many different styles of guitar throughout my 13 years of experience and specialize in finger-style acoustic and classical guitar. I learned the correct techniques in my studies with several different teachers beginning with electric guitar when I was teenager and ending with classical guitar in college. My 7 years of piano playing included intensive private lessons throughout my undergraduate work. Along the way, I've helped many fellow performers, colleagues, and friends learn to play basic to difficult music for piano and guitar (including my own).
