I have interdisciplinary undergraduate college work and a bachelor's degree obtained through a capstone student teaching and observation internship experience and am currently seeking my Master's in English. Upon graduation I am now a substitute teacher for two different school districts for grades pre-k through 12, all subjects. I have one-on-one experience working with a multitude of varying students in various subjects. I have a passion for learning and teaching. My goal is to become a high school English teacher and later a college professor.

I am currently working toward licensure in 5-12 grade English in MA and CT. As much as I have a passion for English, my interdisciplinary approach to college and work experience gave me a broad base of knowledge. Whether your child needs a structured lesson plan, help with homework, or even just aide with organizational skills, I would love to help your child on their road to success.

In addition, I also work with adults, specializing in GED prep.

ACT English

English is my speciality as I graduated college with an English minor and am on my way to teacher licensure in 5-12th grade English. I placed in a high percentile in high school when I took the English portion of the ACT exam, high enough to waiver the PRAXIS I exam, and would like to help others pursuing to take the test to achieve the same. Many schools put a large emphasis on preparation for the SAT exam and do not always offer as thorough prep courses for the ACT exam. I am a strong believer that the ACT exam is a crucial part of high school standardized testing in preparation for college.

Clarinet

I have played Bb clarinet for fourteen years with extensive orchestra, solo, jazz, and marching band experience. I also have experience competing and with music composition.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a substitute teacher that frequently substitutes grades k-6, often with one-on-one help with students, and in all subject areas. An interdisciplinary approach to a college education helped me to achieve my current career.

Macintosh

I have owned and operated a MacBook for the second half of my college career. I am most familiar with OS X. I understand basic functionality and operations on Apple products and how to make the most out of your laptop for your specific needs.

Public Speaking

I received an A- a college-level course entitled "Introduction to Communication in Business". The course included a final where I was required to prepare a speech with a presentation and to present it to the class while on film. I received a 98 on my final. I have to use my education for public speaking everyday in the classroom as I am a substitute teacher.

Social Studies

I have experience substitute teaching for social studies on an elementary through high school level. In high school I placed into Advanced Placement US History and took the AP exam for college credit. An interdisciplinary approach to my college education has given me a strong background in many facets of social studies as well. I have had the opportunity to study with leading historians in the field.
