I am a recently retired school teacher after working 32 years in the Boston Public Schools. I worked as a Resource Room teacher servicing children in grades 1 to 5. I mainly worked with small groups of children both inside and out side the classroom. Literacy is my specialty, but I have taught math and supported science and social studies with students who required these services. I have lots of experience supporting children in grades 3 through 5 with MCAS preparation.

Additionally, I am a certified Wilson Reading Instructor. This is a linguistic based program to help children who struggle with reading due to dyslexia or some other type of learning disability. I am also certified in Project Read and Wisnea Kapp. These are both phonetic based programs to help children with decoding skills. In 2008 I became certified as a Reading Recovery Teacher and taught 3 first graders after school in Reading Recovery.

I have learned a lot over the years not just in college classes and workshops, but mainly working with children. I would like to continue servicing children and watching them grow and become successful in their academic experiences.
