I began teaching children while I was still at the baby-sitting age. It began by teaching Sunday School to ages four and five for a few years. Then, I tutoring elementary school students through my high school. Private tutoring different subjects for various ages and levels of education followed. In the mid-eighties I taught Fundamental Arithmetic for a Jr. College's evening division. Since then I worked for Education Station, a company that was contracted by the Boston Public Schools. I taught after-school hours in a classroom setting, for at risk elementary school students.
For me, it's a wonderful feeling when I see a child's face light up when he/she finally understand a concept. I find that patience and kindness is key.
