I have my Bachelors of Arts in Spanish and have earned my preliminary teaching license in Foreign Language: Spanish (grades 5-12). Currently, I am studying to earn my certification in English as a Second Language, as well as my MAT Initial. I have completed SEI MA Categories 1, 2 and 4 and will be taking the ESL teachers certification exam this fall. As a highly compassionate and approachable teacher, I am confident in my ability to become a valuable tutor to your child.
Being a versatile educator, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students from various backgrounds and all facets of society. As a result, I am a compassionate teacher, who remains sensitive to children’s unique needs, employs effective learning, provides individual and whole group support and offers positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep students focused and motivated.
Through my experiences working as a special needs teaching assistant, I have helped my colleagues develop and implement comprehensive and stimulating lesson plans that facilitate all learning styles. As an ESL teacher, I incorporate a variety of resources to accommodate students via visual, audio, tactile and kinesthetic methods. In addition, I integrate literature, Writers’ Workshops, phonetics activities and technology to ensure that each student is able to comprehend and retain the concepts and language. My goal is to foster an open, honest, communicative and supportive learning environment, in which each student feels safe, secure, special and appropriately challenged.
I would enjoy the opportunity to meet with you personally to discuss how my diverse skills will enable me to make a valuable contribution to your team. Thank you for your time and consideration.
