A warm hello from me to you!

My name is Jessica, and I am excited about the possibility of helping your student meet his or her academic needs this school year! I have been a school teacher for six years now, and am currently looking to tutor students aged kindergarten through sixth grade. I am willing to travel up to 20 miles from Plymouth, MA, and am available from 9am-6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.

Knowing that I can positively influence the lives of youth by imparting not only knowledge, but organizational skills, confidence, independence, and self worth is a wonderful notion, and I look forward to speaking with you further to set up our first session. Elementary (K-6th)

I graduated with a Master's degree in Elementary education, and am certified to teach elementary aged students K-6. I have also enjoyed teaching elementary school for 6 years.

Study Skills

Organizational skills are the first step to study skills. I truly enjoy teaching kids how to be organized with their belongings, which helps to organize their thinking. Once this is mastered, skills of studying such as repetition, integration, and analysis can be improved!

Drawing

I was a drawing teacher for an after school enrichment program for 2 years, where I instructed students in various styles of art. I taught several techniques, including pencil sketching, tracing, and coloring with a variety of media. Drawing concepts such as foreground and background, focal point, layering, point of view, and shape use were also taught.

ADD/ADHD

I am fully trained in methods and techniques to assist students with ADD or ADHD, and also have 6 years elementary school teaching experience where I helped many students with ADD/ADHD to succeed academically.

Logic

Logic is a very important, and often times overlooked subject in school. Luckily, I taught for 2 years in a school, which emphasized the teaching of logic each day. Using activities given by the school's curriculum, I guided my students through deductive reasoning, classification, and organizational lessons. Not only was it fun for the kids, but it got them to think on their own and incorporate these strategies into their lives.
