Tutoring is one of the most fulfilling opportunities I have experienced, one which I participate in with tremendous passion. The moment when I observe a student successfully comprehend the material which has for so long has been a struggle is immensely gratifying for me. My sophomore, junior, and senior years in high school entailed tutoring students in middle school specifically in math. Usually this consisted of one to several students at a time working on geometry and algebraic equations in preparation for Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS). Currently, the focus has expanded to assisting students in any academic area they may benefit from. This opportunity has enlightened me to different learning styles, teaching techniques, and insight into certain learning disabilities.
