I've been tutoring for a little over three years now. I came about tutoring as somewhat of an accident. People in my class would end up asking for help on their homework, or for test review. I didn't mind helping them as it often helped me out as well, so I would end up studying with them for an hour or so. Often they would come back to me the next week and tell me how well they did on their test and thank me. So, not only was I learning, but I was helping out a friend at the same time.
Soon enough I realized I started getting good at explaining things to people. I eventually came across this website and decided to sign up and see where things lead me. Now, three years later, I have hundreds of tutoring hours and I've encountered dozens of different students.
I specialize in general math
and computer science
studies including Java programming
, Algebra I
, Algebra II
, and SAT Math
Because of my many years of experience, I am able to pinpoint my students strengths and weaknesses and plan accordingly. If a student is struggling with understanding the basics, then I will try and simplify my explanations, however if a student is just not being challenged enough, then I will give them more advanced problems in order to encourage out of the box thinking.
Because of my busy schedule my tutoring can only take place here at Stonehill College. We have a beautiful library located in the center of campus where I teach all of my students. There are study rooms with whiteboards and desks that end up working out perfectly for Math tutoring. I often ask my students to do a problem on the board which encourages them to be constantly participating throughout the discussion.
If you are at all interested, or you have any questions, I strongly encourage you to contact me and I will respond to you promptly. I look forward to hearing from you, and helping you achieve success in your studies!
