My name is Esther and I teach beginning guitar and beginning Suzuki-method violin. In the last five to seven years I have discovered a real passion for teaching music and working with kids on the violin. I have Book 1 teacher training in Suzuki Violin and resonate with the Suzuki philosophy that every child -- any person -- can learn, given a nurturing, structured and fun environment.
My background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Music History Theory, a Master's Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy, and many years of playing and teaching guitar as well as performing as a singer and songwriter.
As per the violin, I learned to play from a Suzuki-Violin teacher when I was a child, put the instrument away for many years and picked it up randomly, only to discover that my arms and fingers knew what to do and that I remembered all the songs. After brushing off the dust, I began taking on private students. I also taught with the Suzuki Institute in Boston and at Creative Arts for All in Reading.
