My name is Jason, and I hope to be your tutor!
I was a member of the National Honors Society for three years at a catholic high school before graduating in 2003. I then attended Assumption College on a Milleret Scholarship, where I graduated cum laude in 2007 with a double major in English Literature and History. After graduating, I worked as a town newspaper reporter in several Massachusetts towns, including Lexington and Clinton, as part of Community Newspaper Company. After deciding to change careers, I began teaching as a substitute teacher in February 2010.
Since then, I have worked with grade 1 to 8 general education students as a Building Based Educator (permanent substitute) and a writing and mathematics specialist, as well as a special education paraprofessional (teacher's aide) the past two school years in the Lawrence Public School system. I am currently enrolled in the Elementary Education Master's program at Cambridge College, where I currently have a 4.0 grade point average. I have passed all Massachusetts Licensure tests, and will be seeking an elementary education teaching position in the near future. Additionally, I provided daily homework tutoring public school students as an academic coach from March to June 2012.
Although I am new to WyzAnt, I am excited to get the opportunity to tutor kindergarten to grade 12 students in a variety of subjects. My favorite subjects to tutor include all subjects within the elementary education curriculum, and high school level history and English literature. I would also enjoy helping high school students with mathematics, including algebra 1, algebra 2, and precalculus.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you in whatever way I can!
