I taught K-12 and at College level for a cumulative total of 12 years. My students ranged from 4years to 72 years old. I am currently a doctoral candidate at Union Institute & University in higher education. I credit my success as a teacher with the approach of being a facilitator to the learning process. I recognize students as individual learners and work to identify their learning styles. I help them to understand these approaches, then scaffold them as they explore the subject and how it informs their personal development. In this way they are motivated to accomplish each lesson goal and develop good personal research habits usually consistent with successful learners.
Students also give feedback to me on their experience on a monthly basis and will (where possible) participate in lesson planning. Those with special needs can be taught to work towards lesson planning. The idea of including students in lesson preparation is that they feel invested in what we cover for the period. I look forward to meeting you and guiding you through the successful outcomes you deserve.
For those who would like to study music I offer limited openings to only serious candidates of all ages with long term goals of studying singing and music theory. There is a competitive audition process. I am a concert artist with 28 years performance experience around the world.
