As a teacher and tutor with nearly a decade of experience, I recognize that every individual has a unique style of learning. Learning styles can range from auditory, visual, verbal, kinesthetic, or a combination of them. Although an individual may struggle in the classroom, that does not devalue his or her capability to understand the learning material. In fact, the individual merely learns at a different pace or learning style. I hope that as your potential tutor, I can help your child find his or her learning style, comprehend the learning material, develop the relevant study skills, and gain the confidence and independence he or she needs to succeed.
I have almost a decade of experience working with a variety of age groups, cultures, and grades. As a private tutor working one-on-one with elementary, middle, and high school students, I recognize and target the students' academic needs so they can build the skills to independently succeed. These one-on-one tutoring sessions include personalized assessments for each individual, practice problems and activities that target specific and relevant needs, and helpful learning methods that work for the individual. I help and have succeeded in helping my students receive better grades in school and standardized tests, gain a clearer understanding of the learning material, and develop excellent study skills.
In addition to tutoring I have worked at after school child care centers, a summer school, a high school, a community college for a non-profit organization, and a middle school. I am currently a teacher at a child care center in Bedford, where I implement activities, help students with homework, and target the social, cognitive, and emotional needs of all the K-5 students I work with. I worked as a Site Teacher for the Champions Extended Learning Company, in which I created lessons that achieved various crucial learning areas and provided homework help for students at MacArthur Elementary School. I taught English courses in Ecuador through World Teach, a non-profit organization affiliated with Harvard University from elementary school students to business adults. I taught at a summer school for 9th grade students in Hawaii.
Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon!
