I am available to tutor for middle and high school Writing, Social Studies and related subjects, in addition to Paralegal Studies, law school classes, and the Massachusetts Bar Exam.

I attended Brandeis University, and graduated with a BA in Politics and American Studies, with a minor in Legal Studies, in 1987. I also attended Boston University School of Law, and graduated with a JD in 1990 and an LL.M. Tax in 1995.

I am admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and California, and I recently took and passed the South Carolina Bar Exam. From 2000 to 2003, I was an instructor of Paralegal Studies at the Mildred Elley School in Pittsfield. I also participated in the Alumni Admissions Council at Brandeis University, so I have direct experience in the college interview and admissions process.

I have four children (1 High School, 1 Middle School, 1 Elementary, and 1 Kindergarten), so I relate easily to kids who need extra help with their Social Studies and Writing classes. I am obsessive with writing clearly, concisely, and with proper spelling and punctuation. So beware!

I am generally available most evenings after 6PM and on the weekends, at your convenience. I prefer to tutor at the Newton Free Library, but I can also travel.

College Counseling

I am a graduate of Brandeis University, College of Arts and Sciences '87, with a BA in Politics and American Studies, and I served on the school's Alumni Admissions Council for a number of years. This involved interviewing prospective freshman for admission to the university, and making a recommendation to the Office of College Admissions. I am generally familiar with college standards and practices used to select students.

Bar Exam

I passed the California Bar Exam (essay, MBE and practical), one of the most difficult in the country to pass, and also the Massachusetts Bar Exam (essay and MBE) in the early 1990s. In 2009, I studied for, took and passed the South Carolina Bar Exam (essay and MBE).
