I played for a very competitive college golf team and have written over 1000 golf swing tips in my career, along with hundreds of articles about the game of golf. I have worked with hundreds of junior players and been a club champion. As publisher and editor of two golf magazines, I have had the chance to meet and/or play with with almost all the top-name PGA tour professionals, including Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, Tom Lehman and many others.
I am not a PGA professional, but I have a keen eye for the golf swing and know how to boil the swing down to basics that people can understand.
I am currently Director of Marketing for an international luxury resort development company, where I lead the company's marketing group in all its efforts. These include marketing, planning, budgeting, advertising, media planning and buying, social media campaigns, web site development, search engine optimization, etc.
I have worked in the marketing and advertising field for more than 25 years and have earned dozens of industry awards for national and international advertising campaigns. In New York City, I was the co-owner and creative director of a $100-million advertising agency. Some of the clients whose advertising business I have worked on include Walt Disney Co., R.J. Reynolds, General Mills, Betty Crocker, General Electric, Seiko, Newsweek Interactive, Chemical Bank and others.
I have a thorough understanding of marketing strategy and the tactics that make marketing campaigns work. I love talking about marketing and sharing ideas, whether it's with colleagues around the world or students here in Boston. Marketing is an exciting field and one that's a lot of fun. Learning about it should be, too.
I have written professionally for more than 20 years about topics ranging from current events and world news to rock music and ice hockey. I taught undergraduate creative writing at the University of Colorado and am well versed in the rules of clear communication and the many elements of structure and style. I love writing and want my enthusiasm to be contagious so that my writing students come away from our sessions energized and eager to approach their writing assignments with new-found passion.
