Hello! Thank you for reviewing my education, skills and experiences. I hope that you will find me to be a good fit to tutor your junior high, high school, undergraduate student - or marketing-professional-in-training (i.e., website design -but not software tutoring). Please note, I can travel only within 15 minutes of zip code 01950.
Having both significant experience teaching and training over the decades and having earned both a B.A. in English-writing and an M.A. in socioeconomic development, I am enthusiastically equipped to tutor for a variety of subjects, including English writing; English speaking; introduction to Spanish; Social Sciences; Geography; introduction to Economics (macro and micro); and website design from the perspective of a marketing professional who designs websites.
Further experience to tutor in Spanish or teach English -ESOL- results from direct contact with native speakers; from living in Spain to volunteering almost annually in Central America. For Community Action I have taught general ESOL for beginners and intermediate students, and Workforce specific ESOL. I have taught privately as well.
I have traveled internationally to the extent that I am especially comfortable communicating well with non-English speakers as I venture to find ways to express myself with gestures, dynamic facial expressions, etc. This skill is a plus in teaching language!
I engage students in learning by being both dynamic and create lessons that appeal to their personal goals (finding work, talking about their lives, etc.). Teaching Spanish and ESOL is a pleasure.
Since I was a child, I gathered groups of children in my neighborhood, brought "handouts" and attempted to share what I knew. I love to teach. In the marketing and communications profession I am still constantly educating on behalf of businesses and non-profits. The teaching continues.
